Wadi Al Mujib is a seasonal adventure.

It opens in mid-April and closes at the first heavy rain of winter.

If you are planning summer travel in Jordan, this is one of the very best canyon experiences.

! What You Should Know

The famous Siq Trail is not included in the Jordan Pass, but I highly recommend it if you are physically fit.

The route is challenging, exciting, and leads through rushing canyon water toward a strong waterfall.

You will go up and down a lot.
The water level is sometimes high and strong.
It is physically demanding, so only attempt it if you are confident with active hiking and water walking.

Google Maps may direct visitors to the wrong location for Wadi Al Mujib.

The incorrect location can be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the correct entrance.

Wear What To Wear

Your clothing makes a big difference at Wadi Al Mujib.

Girls: wear a swimsuit.
Guys: wear swim shorts.
Choose something light that dries quickly.
Wadi Al Mujib includes a swimming vest for every visitor.

The canyon includes water and wet rocks, so heavy clothing is not a good idea.

Shoes Shoes Are Important

Wadi Al Mujib has specific shoes you should buy or rent.

I reckon it costs around 5–7 JOD, but if you have waterproof shoes you will be fine.

Still, it is better to have proper water shoes because rough canyon surfaces can cut your feet.

Tip

Water shoes protect your feet from sharp rocks and rough canyon surfaces. This is the safest choice for the trail.

Fees Siq Trail Tickets
The ticket price is 23 JOD.
The reduced price is around 20 JOD for eligible categories, and it can be cheaper if you are both a resident and a student.
Jordan Pass does not cover this entrance
Bring your student card if you want to ask for the student price

Wadi Mujib trail prices and opening rules can change with season, water levels, and weather closures. Confirm the current Siq Trail ticket at the visitor center before entering, especially if you are planning your day around the Dead Sea.

Bus How To Go From Amman

Here is the public bus route from Amman to Wadi Al Mujib.

Public Transportation Route

Go to South Bus Station in Amman.
Take a bus or service heading toward Karak, Ghor Al-Safi, or the southern Jordan Valley that uses the Dead Sea Highway.
Ask the driver to drop you at Wadi Al Mujib Visitor Center.
Keep checking the way because sometimes the bus driver forgets to drop you off.
