Taxi Getting to King Hussein Border

For non-Arab travelers, first check whether JETT is currently selling King Hussein Border tickets. If it is not available, use a shared taxi or ride app instead.

Transportation Options

JETT Bus: Only use it if current tickets are available from JETT.

Shared Taxi: From South Bus Station for around 10–13 JOD per person. The taxi leaves once all 4 seats are filled.

Regular Taxi: From Amman directly to the border for approximately 20–30 JOD, depending on traffic and negotiation.

TaxiF / Ride Apps: Usually around 13–20 JOD depending on location and time.

For many Arab travelers, shared taxis and regular taxis are generally the most common transportation option.

Fees Fees, Visa & Passport Stamps

Jordan exit fee at King Hussein Border is 10 JOD and should be paid in cash.

On the Jordanian side, passports are normally not stamped to show that you left Jordan through this border.

On the Israeli-controlled side, your passport is normally not stamped. Instead, you are given a separate visa/entry paper.

Exit Fee from Palestine to Jordan: The exit fee is approximately 80 USD. Payment is generally accepted in Jordanian dinars (JOD), US dollars (USD), euros (EUR), and Israeli shekels (ILS).

Fees may change over time. Verify the current amount and accepted payment methods before travelling.

Returning to Jordan After Visiting Palestine

If your main reason for travelling is to visit Palestine and you entered Jordan first, it is generally recommended to obtain your Jordanian visa on arrival and keep the visa document with you throughout your journey.

If you return to Jordan through the King Hussein / Allenby Bridge in order to fly from Jordan, an immigration officer may ask you to pay for another Jordanian visa, depending on the officer and your circumstances.

If this happens, politely explain that travellers entering Jordan on a single-entry visa and travelling through the King Hussein Border generally do not require another visa because:

Jordanian immigration normally does not place an exit stamp in your passport.
Israeli immigration usually issues entry permission on a separate paper rather than stamping your passport.
As a result, there may be no passport record showing that you officially exited Jordan.

Immigration decisions are always made by the relevant authorities, so this information is general guidance and not a guarantee.

Time Timing & Border Hours

There is no guaranteed crossing time. Leaving Amman early, around 6:00–7:00 AM, gives you a much better chance of completing the crossing the same day.

Arriving closer to 10:00–11:00 AM can be risky because queues may already be long and the border can stop accepting travelers before the posted closing time.

The King Hussein / Allenby crossing is closed on Saturdays, and holiday schedules can change with little notice.

If you are travelling as part of a group, it is often better for each traveller to answer immigration questions individually rather than relying on one person to answer for everyone.

During immigration procedures, remain calm and avoid unnecessary conversations with other travellers, even if you know them, as border areas are monitored and immigration officers may observe interactions.

Phone Phone & Digital Checks

Phone checks can happen. Travelers have reported officers reviewing phones, messages, contact lists, social media, and even viewing history.

Before you travel, think carefully about what you are carrying digitally, especially Palestinian phone numbers, political content, saved media, or anything that could raise questions.

Even small details may lead to extra questioning or refusal of entry.

Protect Your Phone

If someone you do not know asks you to connect to their hotspot or asks you to share your internet connection, politely decline. Only use trusted Wi-Fi networks or your own mobile connection. Using unknown connections may expose your personal information or device to security risks.
